Heatherwold Stud Ltd

Situated in rural Berkshire, Heatherwold Stud provides the ideal location for a top class Thoroughbred nursery. Heatherwold Stud was acquired by the present owners in 2003 and straightaway an ambitious renovation program was carefully planned. In 2004, the stud underwent a complete facelift which included two brand new, spacious, American barns, encompassing a state of the art foaling unit, a purpose built office complex and sales preparation facilities, including a 5 bay horse walker and a covered lunge ring. Additionally, the stud quickly built up a new highly experienced team to manage and operate the facilities.

We specialize in foaling down and sales preparation, with resting horses and new boarders welcome all year round.

With a history of breeding Group winners, such as SAUMAREZ, winner of the 1990 Group 1 Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe, DARKNESS and TAKE A BOW, Heatherwold aims to continue this success, with new black type performers already to include Al Muheer, City of Tribes, Major Art and RED CADEAUX.

Wrote (Desert Classic 2009) won the BREEDERS' CUP JUVENILETURF (GRADE 1) at the Churchill Downs on 5th November 2011.

1st October 2011

Red Cadeaux (Artisia 2006) finished third in THE IRISH FIELD ST. LEGER (GROUP 1) at The Curragh on 10th September.

Ellie In The Pink won the HEATHERWOLD STUD HANDI CAP at Newbury on 17th September, she was also awarded the 'Best Turned Out'.

Wrote (High Chaparral X Desert Classic 2009) won the IRISH STALLION FARMS EUROPEAN BREEDERS FUND MEDIAN AUCTION MAIDEN at Cork on 22nd August.

Wrote went on to win the IRISH STALLION FARMS EUROPEAN BREEDERS FUND PREMIER NURSERY HANDICAP at Galway on 29th August.
